ArmInfo. A Council for the Assessment of Budget Programs is set to be established in Armenia. The decision, as reported on the official website of the government, was signed by Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoyan on August 13.
The Council will be led by the Deputy Prime Minister in charge of macroeconomic policy. The Council (with a vote) will also include the Minister of Finance and the heads of departments responsible for the issue discussed at a specific meeting. The new body will include the head of the relevant department of the Ministry of Finance, and the Deputy Minister of the Finance Department overseeing the budget process, although they will not have voting rights. Other members of the Council will consist of representatives from departments responsible for the implementation of budget programs; representatives of inspection bodies; independent experts and civil society representatives who will have the right to participate in Council meetings.
