Badalyan: The United Kingdom has introduced autonomous trade measures against goods of Armenian origin

ArmInfo. The United Kingdom has imposed autonomous trade measures on goods of Armenian origin, according to Ani Badalyan, spokesperson for the Armenian Foreign Ministry.

"This decision is in line with the strategic partnership between Armenia and the United Kingdom and is aimed at expanding export opportunities for Armenian products and deepening bilateral economic cooperation," she said.

Badalyan also published a list of goods eligible for preferential, duty-free export opportunities. These include: fresh fruits - apricots, grapes, peaches, nectarines, apples, and pears; dried fruits - raisins; herbs and spices: basil, mint, oregano, rosemary, sage, thyme, bay leaf, saffron, ginger, and other spices; Beverages - beer, cognac, and brandy.

As a reminder, on September 24, the EU Council approved a proposal to adopt an EU regulation on the application of autonomous trade measures to Armenian products. Thus, as of October 10, the European Union introduced temporary autonomous trade measures for Armenia, liberalizing approximately 80% of Armenian exports to its market by eliminating or reducing import duties.
