Finance Minister: There is currently no official information about increasing gas prices for Armenia

ArmInfo. Currently, there is no official information about an increase in gas prices for Armenia from January 1, 2027. This was announced on November 2 by RA Finance Minister Vahe Hovhannisyan at a hearing on the country's draft state budget.

He called for an end to panic and avoid discussing the issue in an "apocalyptic vein." The head of the Ministry of Finance is confident that even if gas prices rise, this will not lead to catastrophic consequences for the country.

It should be noted that the current base tariff for natural gas for residential consumers in Armenia is 143.7 drams per cubic meter, while socially vulnerable categories enjoy a preferential tariff of 100 drams per cubic meter. Previously, the public discussed scenarios for the impact of possible geopolitical changes or revisions to supply conditions, but the government emphasizes the stability of the current budget system.
