The Ministry of Economy considered the possibility of implementing an extended producer responsibility system with the support of UNIDO.

ArmInfo. Armenian Deputy Minister of Economy Tigran Gasparyan received a delegation led by Qiong Zhou, Deputy Director-General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and Executive Director of the Directorate for Technical Cooperation and Sustainable Industrial Development.

During the meeting, prospects for cooperation between Armenia and UNIDO, as well as current and planned programs, were discussed.

The parties exchanged views on the Country Programming Document for Inclusive and Sustainable Industrial Development for 2022-2026. They also discussed mobilizing resources necessary for further cooperation, including measures to develop quality infrastructure.

Furthermore, the parties discussed the possibility of implementing a joint program in the field of circular economy and the introduction of an extended producer responsibility system.
