“From Resources to Opportunities”: Mining Armenia Forum 2026 Begins in Armenia

Arminfo. The major international Mining Armenia Forum 2026 has begun in the Armenian resort town of Tsaghkadzor, bringing together representatives of dozens of mining and related companies from Armenia and foreign countries. The forum is being held for the third consecutive year.

About 50 speakers will address the forum, including representatives of international mining companies and financial institutions, investors, policymakers, sustainable development experts, technology suppliers, as well as representatives of academia and civil society.

According to Vardan Dzhanyan, President of the Mining and Metals Industry Association of Armenia and First Deputy CEO of the Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine (ZCMC), who opened the event, the Mining Armenia Forum is the largest international conference in Armenia and serves as a platform for substantive dialogue involving the government, business, academia and international partners. This year, the participation of international partners is unprecedented, ranging from the largest consulting companies to leading global experts and executives in the mining industry, as well as guests from more than 15 countries. This testifies to growing international interest in Armenia’s mining and, more broadly, economic potential. “Our goal is to turn this interest into new investments, practical cooperation and solutions aimed at modernizing the industry,” Dzhanyan noted.

“Armenia’s mining sector has enormous development potential, the realization of which requires long-term investment, modern technologies and the adoption of the best international practices. The experience of ‘Lydian Armenia’ and the entire development path of the Amulsar project—from the discovery and exploration of the deposit to the start of operations—show that it is possible to implement large-scale mining projects in Armenia that meet high international standards. I am confident that the future of the industry must be built on the principles of competitiveness, innovation, environmental responsibility and sustainable development. In this regard, the Mining Armenia Forum is an important platform for consolidating international experience, encouraging the exchange of knowledge and expertise, establishing new partnerships and identifying new opportunities for the development of the industry,” said Hayk Aloyan, head of “Lydian Armenia.”

According to Gagik Sahakyan, Ameriabank’s Director of Corporate and Investment Banking, the mining industry plays a major role in shaping the country’s export potential. For many years, the bank has acted as a financial partner to the industry’s largest companies, and the effective realization of their potential requires not only the use of consulting, financial and investment instruments, but also a responsible approach, a long-term vision and innovative solutions. The motto “From Resources to Opportunities” fully reflects our approach.”

The Mining Armenia Forum is organized by the Mining Forum Development Foundation and the Mining and Metals Industry Association of Armenia. The forum’s strategic sponsors are the country’s largest mining companies, the Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine and gold mining company “Lydian Armenia.” The forum’s main sponsors are Ameriabank CJSC and Teghout CJSC.
