ArmInfo. In the frames of cooperation between AraratBank and “4090 Charity” Foundation, a charity climb took place to Mount Aghavno located in the Aragatsotn region in support of students – participants of war – to enhance their quality of life through education.
"Having conquered Aghavno peak, we can once again state that over every mountain there is a path, although it may not be seen from the valley. Life is a mountain of solvable problems, and we enjoy that," says Mary Mamikonyan, Chairperson of the Board at “4090 Charity” Foundation.
The cooperation between AraratBank and “4090 Charity” Foundation on a number of projects has now entered its third year, and mountain climbs are among the most anticipated events. Symbolically, the idea of ascent can be seen in the slogans of both organizations: “Rising together” ... and “Let's conquer new heights through education.”
“We sincerely appreciate AraratBank’s long-standing support in implementing our initiatives, including this charity climb. With our ascent to the top of Aghavno, we seek to support not only charitable causes, but also a far-reaching patriotic message: we are striving to empower our youth and community to cherish our country more dearly, explore its beautiful nature, and revalue the importance of education and the feat of veterans,” says Irina Pahlevanyan, Executive Director of “4090 Charity” Foundation.
"Our cooperation is particularly important in the context of this program, as the raised funds will be used to cover tuition fees of students who participated in the 44-day wars and the subsequent hostilities. This was my second ascent to a mountain peak, and I could not help thinking of how we struggle in the wild in peacetime, having no idea about what our defenders experienced during the war, with no place to take shelter... By ascending the top of the mountain and supporting their education, we take the opportunity to make our small contribution to the prosperous future of our heroes," said Anna Allahverdyan, Head of Communication and CSR Programs Coordination Division at AraratBank.
Temur Khudoyan, a beneficiary of “4090 Charity” Foundation, was 19 years old when the 44-day war broke out. He suffered severe injuries while defending Martuni when an enemy military airplane attacked, leaving him unable to walk or speak, forced to communicate only through blinking. It took him a long time to speak and walk on crutches. “Even in 2024, I found out that AraratBank was sponsoring an ascent to Aragats, but back then, I wasn’t able to make it” shares Temur.
And today... TEMUR COMPLETED HIS FIRST TREK – with a cane and a great deal of effort, yet happy, and self-sufficient, victorious.
2309 meters above the earth… AraratBank and “4090 Charity” Foundation teams conquered the height of Aghavno with love and heartfelt solidarity, waving the Armenian tricolor at the summit.
