ArmInfo. As of August 28, 2025, the Republic of Armenia is at the historically highest point of its well-being. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan made this statement at a government meeting on August 28.
He recalled that earlier, during the discussion on budget execution, he had pointed out that the citizens of Armenia are now living at least 50% better then they were in 2018.
"I should also note that the population's well-being data is also reflected in the data of the banking system. Specifically, bank deposits and accounts of residents of the Republic of Armenia increased by 141% compared to 2017. For individuals, the growth was 125%, and for legal entities - 175%. These are very specific indicators: the money is in a specific place and belongs to specific people. Of course, we need to develop statistics so that we also have data on how many people own this money," Pashinyan said. Additionally, the Prime Minister noted that compared to 2017, the volume of loans issued to residents of Armenia rose by 173% - from 2.3 trillion drams to 6.4 trillion drams. "Now there may be a reaction that people are mired in loans and debts. Therefore, there is another indicator: in terms of the level of non- performing loans, we are at a historical minimum. At the moment, we have only 1.2% of problem loans. That is, out of this entire volume, we have only 1.2% of problem loans. Meanwhile, in 2016 the indicator was at the level of 4.6%, and during the COVID period - 4.5%," Nikol Pashinyan said, noting that these figures indicate the country's progress towards stable growth.
