ArmInfo. In 2024, Armenia reduced car imports by 63% (compared to an 86.3% increase in 2023), bringing the total to 32.1 thousand units. Accordingly, the customs value also decreased - by 60.5% to $ 520 million, as evidenced by data from the Customs Service of the Republic of Armenia.
The main import markets for Armenia were the US (33.3%), the UK (23.7%), China (17.1%), Japan (7.5%), Germany (6.2%), and South Korea (5.6%). Cars were also imported from Italy, Canada, Turkey, Thailand, Austria, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, India, the United Kingdom, Sweden, the Russian Federation, South Africa, France, Spain, the UAE, Belgium, and Indonesia. At the same time, Armenia significantly reduced its car exports to 820 units (compared to 21.5 thousand in 2023), with a similar decrease in customs value to $44.6 million. According to customs data, 33.3% of car exports went to the Russian market, 30.7% to Kazakhstan, and 13.8% to the UAE. A very small number of cars were exported to Kyrgyzstan, the United States, Belarus, Bulgaria, Austria, Georgia, Germany, and Iraq.
