Armenia is interested in deepening collaboration with Great Britain in the areas of joint industrial production, free economic zones, and innovative entrepreneurship, as stated by the Minister of Economy of Armenia, Gevorg Papoyan, during a meeting with the British Ambassador to Armenia John Gallagher, who is concluding his mission in Armenia.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Economy, the meeting involved discussions on the possibilities of bilateral cooperation, the steps taken by the Ministry to diversify the economy, and the export strategy recently adopted by the Government of Armenia. They also considered the investment potential of Great Britain for possible investments in the free economic zones of Armenia. Gevorg Papoyan thanked Ambassador Gallagher for his work, emphasizing his significant contribution to expanding economic cooperation between the two countries.
Note that according to the RA Statistical Committee, the foreign trade turnover between Armenia and the UK in the first half of 2025 amounted to $49.8 million. This figure is 5% lower than the previous year. Exports decreased by 81.4% to $368,000, while imports declined by 2% to $49.4 million.
