Arshaluys Harutyunyan, the Department Head of the Macroeconomic Policy Department at the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Armenia, along with department employees, held meetings in the Russian Federation with representatives from the Scientific Research Financial Institute of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation and colleagues from the Russian Ministry of Finance.
As reported by the press service of the Armenian Ministry of Finance, discussions during the visit focused on the development of a system for short-term forecasting of real sector economic indicators, as well as a system for assessing fiscal and budgetary risks.
As part of the knowledge exchange, meetings were held with Evgeny Dombrovsky, Director of the Department of Budget Policy and Strategic Planning at the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation, and Irina Goptaya, Head of the Macroeconomic Policy Department. The discussions covered the features of the semi-structural gap model/SSGM for medium-term forecasting of macroeconomic indicators, which is currently under development at the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Armenia, as well as the planned directions for the development of the model system planned at the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation.
