ArmInfo. Armenia intends to ratify the agreement between the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union "On Permissible Weights, Axle Loads and Dimensions of Vehicles" moving on the roads of the EAEU countries. The document was signed on December 13 last year.
The RA government approved the draft of this agreement at a meeting on July 10.
The rationale for the draft decision notes that in Armenia the permissible weight, axle load and overall dimensions of vehicles used to transport heavy loads or exceeding the limits established by traffic regulations, or operated in combination with two or more trailers, have already been established by the Cabinet of Ministers resolution of July 20, 2006. Traffic regulations and the procedure for issuing permits for transportation along routes by vehicles exceeding the maximum permissible mass of vehicles carrying goods, as well as the procedure for issuing permits for establishing the maximum permissible mass or load on one axle of vehicles, have also been established. Bringing the standards for permissible weight, axle load and dimensions of vehicles moving on the roads of the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union into line with the standards in force in the member states simplifies the process of cargo transportation in terms of legal regulation.
The Republic of Armenia considers it expedient to harmonize the legislation in force in the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union in the field of road transport, which should be carried out on the basis of international agreements. The signing of the agreement corresponds to the event "Development of active and mutually beneficial cooperation within the framework of the EAEU, aimed at maximum use of the opportunities provided by the structure".
Based on the above and taking into account the requirements of the Law of the Republic of Armenia "On International Treaties", the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of the Republic of Armenia considers it expedient to ratify the agreement.
