ArmInfo. The RA Government will allocate 1.849 billion drams to co-finance local community development programs. The funds will be provided to the offices of regional governors to cover the expenses of companies that have already carried out construction work. The decision to this effect was made at a meeting of the executive body on July 10.
According to David Khudatyan, the RA Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, it is envisaged to finance a total of 15 programs that have been carried out in 11 communities of the country. The funds will be sent to the offices of the regional governors of the Republic of Armenia to cover financial obligations to the relevant construction organizations. In particular, 2 programs were implemented in Armavir region, 3 in Ararat region, 1 in Gegharkunik region, 2 in Lori region, 4 in Kotayk region and 4 in Syunik. In total, as the minister noted, programs worth a total of 9.4 billion drams will be implemented in 2025 only at the expense of the state budget.
The adoption of the project is due to the need to ensure the effective implementation of programs aimed at developing the economic and social infrastructure of the communities of the republic. In accordance with the procedure for providing subsidies to communities from the state budget of the Republic of Armenia, 363 applications were reviewed and approved by the Commission at the meetings of the Interdepartmental Commission for the Assessment of Program Applications for Subsidies in 2022, 273 in 2023 and 242 in 2024.
The said program applications are mainly aimed at the improvement of streets, parks, gardens, playgrounds, construction and reconstruction of public buildings, cultural centers, kindergartens, assembly halls, construction and reconstruction of drinking, sewage, irrigation water pipelines and night lighting, gasification of settlements, reconstruction of common shared ownership of apartment buildings using energy-saving measures.
