ArmInfo. In Armenia, power generation in January-May 2025 accelerated in annual growth from 3% to 3.6%, amounting to 3,992.9 million kWh. However, in May alone, power generation decreased by 7% - to 659.3 million kWh, as evidenced by data from the RA Statistical Committee.
According to the source, in January-May 2025, compared to the same period in 2024, hydroelectric power plants increased electricity generation by 21.6% - to 1,080.6 million kWh. Solar power plants also saw a significant increase in their electricity generation by 74.1% annually, providing a volume of 566.9 million kWh. On the other hand, thermal power plants reduced their electricity generation by 10.4% - to 1,111.6 million kWh, and the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant decreased by 11.7% to 1,233.4 million kWh. Additionally, wind power plants also saw a decrease in their electricity generation by 47.7% annually to 0.4 million kWh.
