The politician recalled that in May of this year, inflation in the country for food products was 7.4%. At the same time, fruits increased in price by 13.4%, and vegetables - by 29%.
"Indexation of wages and pensions should become a mandatory norm in Armenia. That is, wages and pensions should increase every year at least to the level of inflation, as is done in a number of countries," Mesrop Arakelyan wrote.
To the RA Statistical Committee, inflation in Armenia was 4.3% in May 2025. In April, this figure was 3.2%. Food prices increased by 7.4%, alcohol and cigarette prices by 5.8%, and clothing and footwear prices decreased by 1.5%. Health care prices increased by 3.4%, and transportation tariffs by 4.2%.
