ArmInfo. Armenia has remained one of the leaders in economic growth within the EAEU over the past three years. This was stated by Eldar Alisherov, a member of the Board on Integration and Macroeconomics of the EEC.
"For example, in 2024, the country's economy grew by 5.9%. Economic activity remains high: in February 2025, the economic activity index was 4.1%. The labor market is showing positive trends: there is an increase in wages and employment, unemployment has significantly decreased," he noted, as quoted by the EAEU press service.
According to the Statistical Service of Armenia, Armenia's foreign trade turnover with the EAEU countries in 2024 reached $12.7 billion (42.2% of the total), with an increase of 54%. Moreover, the 2.1-fold growth in imports was accompanied by a 10.7% decline in exports, the volumes of which amounted to $9.4 billion and $3.3 billion, respectively. The share of the EAEU in exports decreased to 25.5% in 2024, increasing in imports to 54.8%, in both cases due to Russia.
