RA NA to hold special meeting 

ArmInfo.  The National Assembly of Armenia will hold an extraordinary session. The decision to hold it was signed by NA Chairman Alen Simonyan.

As reported by the press service of the parliament, the extraordinary  session will be held immediately after the completion of the plenary  sessions, which started on April 15. The agenda of the session, which  is convened at the initiative of a group of deputies, includes only  one issue: amendments to the Tax Code of the Republic of Armenia,  which are planned to be adopted in two readings at once.

Earlier, Deputy Chairman of the NA Committee on Economic Affairs  Babken Tunyan reported on the legislative initiative put into  circulation regarding the postponement of the deadlines for filing  income tax returns for individuals. In particular, as Tunyan noted,  the deadline for submitting the General Income Tax Declaration for  those who file a declaration this year (for income for 2024) is  postponed from May to November 1. Those who must file a tax return  next year (for income for 2025) can do so from March 2 to November 1.  For subsequent years, the filing deadline will be set from March 2 to  July 1.

According to Tunyan, the main reason for the postponement of the  deadline is the problem with ID cards.  Due to the process of  obtaining ID cards, queues have formed, and without them it is  impossible to fill out an income declaration. "Considering the  relevance of the topic and issues related to the deadlines, I would  like to inform you that we will adopt the draft at an extraordinary  session and under an accelerated procedure by the end of this month,"  the deputy head of the NS commission noted. Let us recall that the  implementation of the Universal Declaration of Income of All Citizens  - Residents of the Republic system began in 2023. The process is  organized in three stages, with the circle of people required to  submit a declaration increasing each year. The implementation of the  system will be completed by the end of 2025.
