ArmInfo. The management of the Zangezur Copper and Molybdenum Plant (ZCMC) has started the process of terminating employment contracts with employees who incited illegal actions and organized sabotage at the plant. This is noted in the official statement of the plant. It is emphasized that the termination of contracts is being carried out in strict compliance with Armenia's labor legislation.
The message states that dismissal orders have already been issued for eight employees. They are no longer employed by the company, and their statements are considered private. The company is urging all absent employees of the enterprise to take the opportunity to promptly return to work and resume their job duties. , the statement says.
It should be noted that this morning ZCMC announced that the company is suffering large losses as a result of the disruption of normal operations. ""For about a week, as a result of the illegal disruption of the normal operation of the company by a group of lawbreakers and citizens not associated with ZCMC, the enterprise suffered losses in the amount of about 400 million drams per day, and the state in taxes alone - in the amount of more than 100 million drams per day," the statement said. It emphasizes that as a result of these actions, thousands of the company's employees suffered. "We expect that the lawbreakers will bear legal responsibility for what happened," the statement said.
Recall that since the end of last week, some ZCMC employees have gone on strike, demanding a 50% salary increase. ZCMC considered these demands as unrealistic, and the actions of the strikers as going beyond the Labor Code. Recall that the third year in a row, the list of 1000 major taxpayers in Armenia is headed by the Zangezur Copper and Molybdenum Combine. It is the largest mining company in Armenia, operating the Kajaran copper and molybdenum deposit.
Earlier, the company's statement said that the average salary at the company exceeds all indicators in the country's mining industry. In Armenia's Syunik region, the average salary is the second highest after Yerevan, thanks to the industry and mainly to the work of ZCMC.
