ArmInfo. Armenia and Ukraine discussed the possibilities of expanding trade and economic cooperation. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Economy, citing the results of the meeting of Minister of Economy of Armenia Gevorg Papoyan with Charge d'Affaires of Ukraine in Armenia Valerii Lobach.
The parties discussed issues of mutual interest, including those related to the development of trade and economic relations and increasing the volume of mutual trade. The interlocutors noted industry, agriculture, trade, pharmaceuticals, metallurgy, healthcare, energy, etc. as promising areas of cooperation. "We are following the path of economic diversification, developing relations with various countries, and, of course, maintaining relations with traditional partners," Papoyan noted.
He presented the government's "Crossroads of Peace" project to the guests, noting its importance in the context of establishing peace and creating trade and economic opportunities for the countries of the region. According to the RA Statistical Committee, foreign trade turnover between Armenia and Ukraine totaled $31.7 million in January-April 2024, which exceeded the figure of the previous year by 6.1%. At the same time, exports decreased by 12% to $3.1 million, against the background of import growth by 8.6% to $28.6 million.
