ArmInfo. On May 16, the Armenian government decided to redistribute funds and allocate 3 billion drams to fulfill the state order for healthcare.
As Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan noted, the funds will be distributed as follows: 400 million - for emergency care, 500 million - for hemodialysis services, peritoneal dialysis, 300 million - for the treatment of oncological and hematological diseases, 1.5 billion drams - to help needy families, 200 million - for internal organ transplants, 100 million - for the treatment of infectious diseases. "With these additions, we continue our commitment to increasing access to health care for our residents," the minister said.
According to her, the number of patient requests has increased for several reasons: an increase in the list of infrastructure and services, medical services are becoming physically more accessible to regional medical care centers. This increase is also associated with the provision of additional volumes of medical care to internally displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, in turn, noted that the government intends to introduce a comprehensive health insurance system in the republic. "As a result of the discussions, the biggest fear is that we may not have an idea of the volumes, and after implementation we may find out that the load is so big that it is many times different from what we imagined. Now, thanks to this mechanism, we understand step by step what volume we are dealing with," he said.
