ArmInfo. Armenia's Minister of Economy of Armenia Gevorg Papoyan hosted Ambassador of Iran to Armenia Mehdi Sobhani.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to expanding economic cooperation between the two countries, increasing trade turnover, and also exchanged views on expanding cooperation in the field of agriculture, organizing joint production in various sectors of the economy, and touched upon the opening of an Iranian trade center in Armenia.
Gevorg Papoyan, for his part, expressed his readiness to assist in the development and implementation of joint programs within the powers of the Ministry.
According to the RA Stacommittee, foreign trade turnover between Armenia and Iran in 2023 decreased by 2.5%, amounting to $692.5 million. In particular, exports decreased by 14.3% to $94.5 million, with imports declining by 0.3% to $598 million.
