ArmInfo. Armenia was among 8 countries that sharply increased the volume of clothing supplies to Russia last year, RIA Novosti reports this with reference to open statistics.
According to these calculations, Armenia exported $132 million worth of clothing to the Russian market, which is 1.5 times higher than the 2022 supply volumes. In turn, the Russian Federation supplied clothing worth $42 million to Armenia, thereby increasing export volumes by 300 times. By the way, in terms of growth in Russian supplies of ready-made clothing, Armenia is among the leaders.
Agency experts calculated that, along with Armenia, Kazakhstan, Myanmar, Romania, Croatia, Turkey, Bulgaria and South Korea were also among the main suppliers of clothing. At the same time, the leaders were China, Italy, Trkiye, Bangladesh and Germany. By the end of 2023 China had exported the most clothing to Russia - almost $2.6 billion. In addition to it, the top five also included Italy with shipments of $602 million, Turkey - $473 million, Bangladesh - $337 million and Germany - $317 million.
