Temporary ban on gasoline exports from Russia will not affect Armenia

ArmInfo. The temporary ban on the export of gasoline from Russia will not affect Armenia.

According to RBC, a temporary ban against the background of a  seasonal increase in demand will be in effect from March 1, a  corresponding proposal was supported by Mikhail Mishustin. However,  as noted in the message, the temporary ban does not apply to the  agreed volumes of supplies to the EAEU countries (Armenia, Belarus,  Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan), Mongolia, Uzbekistan, Abkhazia and South  Ossetia.

Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak approached the Prime Minister  with a proposal to introduce a temporary ban on gasoline exports. In  a letter dated February 21, he noted that a season of increased  demand for fuel will soon begin on the domestic market, which is  associated with the period of spring field work, scheduled repairs at  refineries, as well as summer holidays.

Since October last year, Russia is supplying Armenia with 15 thousand  tons of gasoline and 20 thousand tons of diesel fuel, in addition to  the volumes approved within the indicative balance. In general, in  January - July 2023, 307,000 tons of petroleum products were supplied  to Armenia, including 77% from Russia (235,000 tons). Greece (8%) and  Iran (8%) are also major suppliers.  During January - July, Russia  supplied Armenia with 106,000 tons of AI-92 gasoline and 34,000 tons  of high-octane gasoline, as well as 69,000 tons of summer diesel fuel  and 26,000 tons of off-season diesel.
